The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia is recruiting a faculty clinical medical physicist. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in MR guided therapy and a strong clinical background. Our clinic is installing a Viewray MR Linac, and has Varian and Tomotherapy linacs as well as a state of art brachytherapy facility. This position will focus on the MR Linac and contribute to all clinical medical physics activities. Rank for this tenure ineligible position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Ph.D. degree, in Medical Physics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Certification: Candidates must be board certified or board eligible (minimum part 1 completed) in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).

Experience: Prior clinical medical physics or clinical medical physics residency experience in radiation oncology is required. The ability to work in a team environment, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
