The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia Health Systems is seeking candidates for a full-time open rank faculty position. The successful candidate may be eligible to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future, consistent with SOM Promotion and Tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications. This position will serve as the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Family Medicine. The chosen candidate will be responsible for oversight and guidance of the Department's clinical programs and activities, including serving on clinical committees, serving as a liaison to medical directors, productivity monitoring, and assisting in development of clinical programs. Works collaboratively with department leadership and other faculty to plan, monitor, and schedule clinical activities between and among clinics. The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care 6- half day outpatient sessions/week, assigned inpatient weeks and obstetrics call (if applicable), and teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. 1-2 sessions of assigned clinical effort may be spent precepting residents and teaching medical students.

Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by either the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date. Preference will be given to candidates who practice obstetrics, have experience with care of hospitalized patients, those with procedural or POCUS experience, and have residency and/or medical student teaching experience.
