Job Summary

The AV Support Technician (AVST) provides support and management of fully integrated conference rooms, boardrooms and large complex environments such as auditoriums. The AVST interfaces daily with the customer and acts as an extension of their team. His/her responsibilities generally include the operation and functional testing of all AV and integrated conference room components/equipment. The AVST works in cooperation with the customer’s management team in support of their equipment and user community. This position is a key part of the overall relationship between AVI-SPL and the customer, ensuring the needs of the client are prioritized and met in accordance to project and support goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup and teardown of all scheduled onsite meetings
  • Daily system checks to insure equipment and room functionality
  • Escalate all “next level” break fix issues to their manager for resolution
  • Perform remote testing for local and regional offices
  • Deliver a “white glove” level of customer support to all clients
  • Ensure all AV spaces are presentable for use
  • Perform other AV related tasks as directed by customer

    In addition to the above listed responsibilities, the AVST will also provide the following Customer requested responsibilities:
  • Event planning and pre-testing as required
  • Video conference support, including recording and/or streaming video sessions
  • Maintains delivery, return and tracking for A/V loaner equipment
  • Back up to Video engineer; video on demand

Skills and Abilities
  • Effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards


Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of audiovisual support experience preferred
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
