Oncology Market Access Strategy Director

As a U.S. Oncology Market Access Strategy Director with AstraZeneca, you will have an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing Oncology business within a leading global pharmaceutical company located in Gaithersburg, MD. In this position, you will be responsible for directing U.S. market access strategy for a novel, AstraZeneca multi-indication potential cancer medicine. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly visible team with an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to the commercialization of a leading Oncology portfolio and a robust pipeline of products in development.

In this role, you will collaborate with a wide breadth of AstraZeneca and partner organization's cross-functional teams, to craft and deliver on the product value proposition for patients, providers, and payers to facilitate access and reimbursement. Areas of focus will include development and refinement of clinical value propositions, leading the Clinical Value Team as well as the access dimension of brand planning, formulation of strategies for payers and providers, and enabling account director success through clear articulation of strategy and provision of high impact customer assets. You will also have the opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert in market access with high visibility among leadership in AstraZeneca. The successful candidate will have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change, work effectively within cross-functional teams both locally and globally, be highly innovative and creative, and demonstrate their passion for supporting patients throughout their journey.

Typical Accountabilities

• Acts as point of contact, subject matter expert and key collaborator for all Access Strategy related activities.

• Leads the cross-functional team through the development and implementation of impactful access strategies including compelling and differentiated product value propositions, distribution and dispensing strategy, and pricing, contracting and affordability strategy.

• Collaborates with cross-functional team to conduct in-depth analyses that drive identification of rich market insights across patients, providers, and payers to inform comprehensive and inclusive market access strategies.

• Has accountability to leadership, brand teams and market access account teams to lead the development and integration of the market access strategy into all stages of brand planning.

• Works cross-functionally with HQ and field teams to develop promotional programs and tactics to pull-through market access strategy.

• Supports account management teams in customer strategy, planning, and execution, e.g., promotional tools/resources, and action plans.

• Provides leadership and partners to support gross-to-net and contract management.

• Effectively manages agency relationships ensuring promotional programs are delivered effectively.

• Optimally manages the internal promotional review process ensuring all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

• Collaborates with brand teams and Market Access account teams to ensure appropriate resources are deployed to meet brand, franchise, and corporate goals.

• Develops and manages any associated budgets in compliance with AstraZeneca finance and accounting requirements.

• Performs all company business in accordance with regulations and company policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.

• 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical market in Payer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Insight & Analytics, and/or Management Consulting.

• Oncology and/or Specialty experience.

• Strong understanding of the US market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals.

• Willingness to travel domestically (up to 25%).

Desirable Qualifications

• MBA or Advanced Degree in relevant field.

• Experience in customer facing roles.

• Ability to work independently and experience developing and executing strategy.

• Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment.

• Results oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
