Job Overview:

CAVOK provides technical consulting and services to the aviation, rail and energy sectors. As such, CAVOK provides comprehensive technical advisory support and services that relate to safe, reliable and cost-effective operations. A Technical Specialist is a subject matter expert with extensive experience in sector operations, maintenance operations, maintenance programs, reliability analysis, regulatory requirements and/or engineering support. Knowledge of industry or cross industry best practices, process evaluation/improvement methodologies, and project management are important competencies as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing subject matter expertise to clients in all matters related to operations and management of equipment and infrastructure (i.e., for aviation sector: flight, airport and ramp and maintenance)
  • Develops technical solutions of complex problems for management and/or engineering concurrence to optimize customer operations
  • Resolve emergent needs and regulatory compliance issues. Researches, analyzes and develops new maintenance and/or operations solutions based on design review and analysis of recurring product support data utilizing field experience and internal consultations
  • Familiarity with pertinent regulatory and operational requirements, control processes, associated documents and ability to understand and exercise applicable provisions of client's policies and procedures
  • Presents solutions (e.g. engagement presentations) to clients in creating positive customer interface. Initiates customer feedback on effectiveness of services and products
  • Assists with complex implementation of recommended action plans to assure effective and efficient change management and resulting client improvements
  • Often required to provide project management for client initiatives to assure accountability for both client and CAVOK requirements
  • Responsible for appropriate sector responsibilities
  • Travel nationally & internationally, as required, to support clients

Education and Experience Required:
  • Four to six years prior work-related experience in aviation, rail and/or energy
  • Two years or more experience performing aspects of the roles and responsibilities defined under Key Responsibilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong analytical and high attention to detail skills while manipulating or managing large volumes of data
  • Proficient in database management and auditing
  • Function effectively under strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and composure
  • Ability to handle multiple duties and priorities daily
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Facilitates internal and client meetings, working sessions and interviews with mid- to senior-level clients
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and the aptitude to learn customized company software programs
  • Effective written and verbal communication, time management, and organization skills
  • Customer Service oriented with ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing work environment
  • Builds and maintains deep relationships with client contacts on a personal level
  • Ability to be productive in a team environment and interface professionally, credibly, and objectively with colleagues and clients
  • Self-directed, resourceful, willing to take initiative, work independently, and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Pays attention to detail and is a champion for accuracy and quality
