Description:
Screens calls and makes appointments for the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab and Cardiology Departments. Receives visitors, patients, vendors and physicians into department and directs to appropriate section. Pre-registers patients over the phone and activates registrations. Provides continuous phone coverage by making sure that appropriate personnel are available to answer incoming calls. Schedules initial and follow up visits for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab department. Re-register all Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab patients monthly as required. Collects and prepares records and verifies insurance for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program patients. Obtains pre-certifications and referrals. Collects monies for patients financial responsibilities for Cardiac/Pulmonary and Cardiology departments. Delivers all collected funds to the cashier office. Scans records into ONBASE. Obtains additional training as needed. Performs all other duties in the scope of the position as assigned. Communicates with Access/Registration to remain up-to-date with insurance coverage guidelines. Proficiency in Meditech and EPIC a plus.
