SUMMARY

The OCOO Project Manager will support the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) by helping the OCOO to create a long-term strategic plan and coordinate the day-to-day work that aligns with the National Coordinator's priorities and President's Management Agenda (PMA). This position will support a variety of projects to streamline and improve the functions of OCOO. The Project Manager will be expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of project management, strategic planning, graphic design and functions of a federal operations office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative / motivation, cooperation / relationships, problem analysis / discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability, flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken.

Provides expert consulting on strategic planning, project management and creating high-level briefing materials for the COO.

Maintains a list of priority projects outlined by OCOO.

Tracks milestones and progress for strategic projects outlined by the OCOO.

Updates strategic documents regularly.

Meets with OCOO Division Directors, Deputies and Branch Chiefs to identify risks and opportunities to streamline efficiencies.

Collaborates with the Deputy COO, COO Special Assistants, Data Team and Performance Officer on projects.

Provides expertise in the areas of strategic planning and project management.

Additional projects will be assigned as needed.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred and a minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience working in a professional business environment; or equivalent combination of education / experience. Familiarity with the Department (Health and Human Services) is desirable, but not a requirement.

The Project Manager will demonstrate expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (such as Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Salesforce, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Tableau.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills with knowledge and ability to utilize appropriate grammatical skills at a professional level.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and coworkers, as well as a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds.

Ability to identify problems and to use sound judgment.

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with exceptional discretion.

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to prioritization of time sensitive projects, thoroughness and impeccable attention to detail, grace under pressure, demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with competing deadline.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
