Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Medical Records Clerk to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Pulls and prepares charts in advance of scheduled appointments. Pulls charts for appointments not scheduled in advance.
  • Sorts and files completed charts.
  • Pulls charts for messages, attaches message to chart and places in correct Physician's or staff member's message bin.

  • Continually monitors for misfiled charts and refiles according to proper filing system.
  • Maintains work area and files in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Organizes and files lab results, procedure reports, and other correspondence in the patient's chart in a proper and orderly manner as designated by the Practice.
  • Purges obsolete and deceased records and places them in a designated storage area following established procedures for retention and destruction.
  • Makes up new patient charts. Repairs damaged charts.

  • Works with medical assistants and other staff to route patient charts to proper locations.
  • Follows medical records policies and procedures.
  • Duplicates documents and forms as directed.
  • Faxes medical records or documents when required according to guidelines.
  • Copies and mails medical records to proper destinations upon request.

  • Brings outgoing mail to the mailbox at the end of the day.
  • Performs related work as required.


Requirements:

  • Education: Completed at least 2 years of high school
  • Experience: Knowledge of medical records filing systems. Skill in English grammar and spelling. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to file and maintain patient records and to file reports and other correspondence in charts.

  • Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
