A Global Credit Union is seeking a Monitoring Infrastructure Engineer in Remote

Role Description

To serve as a technical subject matter export for support of the monitoring application portfolio and cloud enabled products, providing moderately complex operational support to the organization. Function as a system engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud-based resources and on-prem environments.
Ensure operational stability, efficiency, asset management, change control, performance management, metric development, security/risk and integrity of system. Provide operational support input related to application analysis and infrastructure design.

• Provide day-to-day operational support
• Oversee and coordinate recovery operations in the event of operational failure
• Recommend, develop and maintain accurate documentation for supported environments
• Coordinate and identify gaps in monitoring for supported environments
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the migrations of on-prem applications into a cloud-based environment in multiple data centers
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during times of application failure
• Participate in a 24/7 Tier-2 On-Call Rotation
• Support technical projects involving monitoring applications
• Support and react to zero-day vulnerabilities, patching and upgrade requirements
• Support SaaS based monitoring applications
• Identify and recommend system for updates/upgrades prior to reaching End-of-Life and End-of-Support timelines
• Create, review and modify diagrams, schematics and other technical documents and templates

Skills & Requirements

• BS Degree in Technology (or qualifying information technology certifications)
• Experience working in the financial industry
• Demonstrated experience working in a 24/7/365 IT Operational Environment
• Strong knowledge and understanding of network architecture, protocols, routing, switching technologies
• Strong knowledge of application infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of on-prem to SaaS connections (Equinix Cloud Exchange/AWS Direct Connect/Google Cloud Provider)
• Knowledge and Understanding of Support for the following Applications:

LogicMonitor
ExtraHop
Broadcom APM / Spectrum
Dynatrace
Splunk
Grafana
Moogsoft

• Experience with Microsoft and Unix Operating Systems
• linux windows background + someone who has worked with monitoring tools
• cloud experience (any cloud is fine)
• Infrastructure knowledge of onprem sas solutions
• how to take onprem and connect it to the cloud environment
• primary focus is how monitoring tools (splunk, etc. ) connect to the cloud, how do we connect, how do we do it safely, how do we monitor, how to manage the on-prem footprint (all windows and linux servers)
• if a connection is down, what do we need to do?
• Cloud technologies and SAS technologies
• example: Splunk with onprem footprint but it connects to splunk cloud and equinox cloud exchange
• Supporting servers and applications to make sure its functioning properly
• some monitoring tools they use: splunk, moogsoft, dynatrace, logic monitor any CA tools (CA broadcom)
• similar to the TAP position we worked and placed George O, they loved George
