Microcontroller (MCU) FAE job description
Job Summary:
As a regional MCU product line FAE you'll utilize your technical skills to drive demand creation, in pre and post sales engagements with customers, to move opportunities into design wins and on to production. You'll partner with local Avnet sales management and MCU suppliers to support the technical aspects of an account sales strategy, and maintain support throughout the customer's product development cycle.
This role can be served at the following locations: Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Portland, San Jose, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, Phoenix.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver supplier MCU product roadmaps, features, and competitive positioning in a persuasive and engaging manner during customer pre-sales meetings.
- Responsible for understanding the technical requirements/specifications of the customer's product and architecting an optimum MCU based device solution.
- Provide MCU technical expertise on product enablement: documentation, suppliers and 3rd party tools, SDK's, demo's, reference designs, vertical solutions, etc.
- Work with your Avnet peers, and supplier technical resources, to debug and resolve customer technical support issues.
- Train customer engineers, and Avnet FAE's, on the supplier's MCU portfolio and enablement tools.
- Deliver results to quarterly KPI's - registrations, design wins, and design win revenue.
Requirements:
- An introductory level of working knowledge with and experience using Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools, typically Eclipse based, from a MCU supplier (MCUXpresso, STM32Cube, MPLab, etc)
- An introductory level of working knowledge with RTOS's (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Azure, etc) and developing embedded software. C/C++ experience a bonus.
- Working knowledge of peripherals such as Flash devices (NAND/eMMC/SPI), SDIO, HS USB, GE, Serial, I2C, SPI, etc. and connecting to sensors and connectivity devices (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.)
- Ability to solve MCU/embedded systems technical problems by leading the customer through the debug process.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills for presenting to customers, and in keeping a large and diverse team current on issues, actions, and strategy.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure in managing multiple customer issues.
- Local travel will be required for this position.
