Warren Tech Center - Body Shop

General Motors Warren Tech Center have needs for qualified Metal Model Makers inthe Pre-Production Body Shop. Metal Model Makers will be working under supervision and must provide a variety of services that support quality pre-production vehicle development and research activities. Services include welding, metal finishing, robotic programming, laser programming, tool build, part fabrication, body-in-white weld tools, research projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
  • Conduct Robotic programming using Fanuc SpotTool with Servo Gun, including ability to perform functions below:
  • - Move a robot in teach mode.
    - Create a robot path program.
    - Set up and program a servo gun.
    - Create robot program logic.
  • Perform light machining tasks and CNC machining
  • Perform spot and MIG welding on aluminum and steel
  • Perform metal finishing
  • Work with engineers and peers in a team environment

Additional Job Description

Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as Metal Model Maker or six (6) years of documented experience as a Metal Model Maker (notarized documentation required).
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includecomprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day or afternoon shift as well as overtime hours daily and weekends on those shifts with little notice
