The Hampton Roads Connector PartnersJV(HRCP) consisting ofVINCI, Flatiron, and Dragados USAhas been selectedto construct the $3.3BN Design Buildproject- the largestcivilconstruction contract everawarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The project scopeacross a 9 mile section of the I-64will include:a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45' diameter 1.5-mile tunnelswill be boredby TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America. The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.

As the Electrical Manager on the $3.3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you will review the Electricals plans submitted by contractors and you will lead an Electrical construction / commissioning teams to ensure compliance with operational requirements of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction for Electrical design activities.
  • Manage daily activities deliverables and costs associated within department
  • Utilization of key performance indicators tofollow-up of work progress.
  • Management and follow-up of Subcontractor work and construction / commissioning work,
  • Interview and hire electrical engineers as needed to build out the team
  • Manage work assignments and workforce planning
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum ten years of professional experience as an engineer.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in medium- and low-voltage (MV/LV) installation, Testing & Commissioning systems.
  • Minimum five years of experience leading an engineering team.
  • Manage daily activities and costs associated within department.
  • Problem solving and providing clear, supported and concise recommendation to management.
  • Willing to work frequent nights or a weekend work schedule.
Preferred:
  • Experience in Tunnels and Road Mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge in NFPA,
  • Strong Leadership skills,
  • Strong Problem-solving skills,
  • Communication skills- both verbal and written,
  • Organizational and planning skills.
