Market Range: 03 THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.  JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  This position provides nursing support for OBGYN nurse practitioners and resident physicians in graduate medical education outpatient setting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies and assists physicians and nurse practitioners with procedures.
2. Stands in as chaperon when appropriate.
3. Obtains vitals and brief health history, escorts patient to exam room, enters quality data into electronic medical record, and administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections per orders.
4. Performs telephone triage as needed following established protocols.
5. Scheduling for referrals to specialists as needed.
6. Performs duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   EDUCATION:  High School Diploma (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of clinical experience; OR Associate’s Degree, six (6) months experience. Experience accurately maintaining Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and some coding and billing knowledge. Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment is essential. Experience in an Internal Medicine office setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records and Microsoft office like word and excel is preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CMA, CCMA, RMA or equivalent.  Must be certified/licensed in the state of Tennessee or have the ability to obtain TN certification/licensure. Must maintain up to date medical and CPR certification. (COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)         WORK SCHEDULE: Ability to work after hours, if necessary.
