Description:


  • *Completes various functions of medical record handling, such as chart pick-up/retrieval, reconciliation, pull, sort and files medical records and tracking of medical records in the Meditech system.

    *Maintains and operate a variety of health record databases and HIM-related applications to collect, classify and analyze information.

    *Use computer programs to tabulate and analyze data to improve patient care, better control costs, provide documentation for use in legal actions, or use in research studies. May process Birth Certificates and related document, if assigned.

    * Processes STAT requests for release of PHI information in a timely manner according to HIPAA regulations.

    *Receives, processes, and files health information to ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of the medical records. Preps charts for scanning, scans charts and loose documents, and indexes charts into Meditech system.

    *May perform various administrative duties, including but not limited to, answering/forwarding telephone calls, faxing, typing, sorting mail, and preparation of correspondence.

    Education & Qualifications


  • * Requires high school diploma.

    * Minimum of one year medical records experience and knowledge of medical terminology required.

    * Ability to use CRT, office equipment and PC.
