Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators at Mercy Medical Center. This person is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

This critical role Performs various duties related to patient assistance, patient transportation and the cleaning of the operating rooms and general surgical area.

Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time
  • 40 hours

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Works with the providers to ensure completion of medical necessity forms, disability applications, an insurance-related documents. Complete referrals and appointments.
  • Completes scanning process of all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' EMR after they have been reviewed by the providers. Assures accurate and complete documentation in patient EMR.
  • Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.
  • Obtains pertinent history and enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems and takes/documents patient vital signs.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Ensures patient is given appropriate clothing in preparation of the expected physical exam or minor surgeries.

Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree from Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification: State Medical Assistant Certification and CPR required.
  • Fluent bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and people skills. Customer/patient service orientated.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience: One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
