SUMMARY

Diversified duties requiring experienced drafting-related skills using 2D and 3D CAD tools and utilizing general skills required for ERP management and engineering department support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D detailed models and drawings per industry standards
• Create and maintain Bill of Material lists and production information in ERP system
• Consult with manufacturing, design engineering or others to obtain information concerning any special or unusual condition affecting application.
• Be willing and able to contribute at a high level in a team with moderate direction from others.
• Check customer specifications for conformance to company standards and check detailed drawings of other drafters as directed.
• Self-checks and produces a high level of first pass yield, while working efficiently and in an accountable manner.
• May give initial consideration to desired purpose, such as increased production, change in design of production part and change in production method.
• May work with customer specifications and/or engineering sketches to prepare design layouts of new products such as motors, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.
• May give consideration to both electrical and mechanical characteristics required and strive for maximum economy in manufacture consistent with essential strength, durability and other features demanded.
• Perform various other related duties as required or directed.

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies

Required:

• 2D and 3D CAD Skills (2 years min)
• Ability to move fluidly between multiple CAD Systems
• Demonstrated experience of doing layout level CAD assemblies
• Ability to produce creative designs with a moderate level of guidance
• Carefully checks work and is accountable for producing accurate work product
• Ability to be highly interactive with other Team members with excellent communication
• ERP (Bill of Material Structure)
• Problem solving skills
• Team Player willing to perform all related duties required to achieve department and company objectives
• Enthusiasm to learn and self-develop
• Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5 in practical application
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances and tolerance analysis
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Preferred:

• PTC Creo and Windchill
• Oracle R11/R12
• Electro-mechanical design
• Tolerance analysis

Education and Experience Requirements

• AAS Design / 2 years minimum experience
