SUMMARY

The Mechanic is responsible for the tasks necessary for Aircraft Maintenance as assigned by the Line Maintenance Manager. In the absence of a Line Manager, the Director of Maintenance and/or Station Manager may delegate his/her duties to a designee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but not limited to:

  • Identifies removes and installs inspection access panels.
  • Removes and replaces aircraft components
  • Accomplishes routine servicing of engines and aircraft accessories with high levels of quality and on a timely basis. (if Powerplant licensed)
  • Re-positions or moves aircraft by towing only with experience employees aside.
  • Must be able to produce good quality work in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to perform basic maintenance tasks with limited to no supervision
  • Reads understands and implements directions of appropriate maintenance manuals (i.e. IPC, FIM, M/M, OHM and SRM) to identify and locate associated components on the aircraft, with limited to no supervision.
  • Perform inspection task such as Daily and Service check task with limited to no supervision
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, and auxiliary power unit. (if Powerplant licensed)
  • Repairs and replaces hydraulic tubing and hydraulic units.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools without supervision.
  • Removes and replaces filters.
  • Follows standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members and ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge and skills.
  • Maintains her/his work area in an orderly and clean manner.
  • Always complies with all safety procedures, without exception.
  • Complies with all FAA and Amerijet policies and procedures, which apply to her/him.
  • Takes those prudent actions appropriate to the preservation of Company and/or customer assets, whether in monetary or other forms.
  • Attends work-related training as scheduled.
  • Performs such other tasks as may be reasonably assigned by her/his supervisor.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum one year’s experience in aircraft maintenance on Company fleet type
  • Must be able to acquire Miami International airport drivers and Movement area certification.
  • Possess an FAA license Airframe and/or Power plant (Airframe preferred)


SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in Standard English.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to comprehend and follow instructions verbally or written.
  • Able to interface in a professional and pleasant manner as required with other Amerijet employees at all levels and with customers as required.


TRAVEL
  • Occasional Travel – The job requires travel outside the U.S from time to time. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exposed to high levels of noise, dust, vibration, and chemical fumes.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • Able to bend, twist, squat, and lift.
  • Able to access and work in all areas of the aircraft, including confined areas.
  • Able to climb on ladders and platforms and work at heights up to fifty feet from the ground.
  • Able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Able to fly with any airplanes, and travel outside the US, when required
