Job Summary: To provide guidance, analysis, and support to the Operations Management team in order to facilitate high level business decision making in a fast paced, ever changing environment. Provide direct financial and analytical support to the Site Leader, Site Mfg. Operations team, and Operations Controller. Support Corporate Finance with ad hoc and audit analysis and reporting and manage closing requirements. In this role, the person will work as a business partner with the Site Leader to help drive productivity and operational performance to improve profitability.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide timely analysis and guidance to operations management and Operations Controller in order to facilitate cost savings initiatives, process improvements, and enhance forecasting capabilities
  • Assist with and roll up and submit monthly site forecast
  • Work with NPI team and cost accountant to develop costing
  • Provide financial support to all Operational Excellence projects.
  • Team member in some Operational Excellence, cost savings and capacity/investment projects
  • Lead/Oversee/Manage site annual budgeting and cost update process
  • Drive Continuous improvement within the operations finance department
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and analyzing all site operations financial data.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to site teams to drive business and reduce costs. Be an active, engaged partner.
  • Establish processes to gather and monitor critical financial and manufacturing information necessary for the Site Leader to make informed decisions
  • Provide financial support as needed to the Directors of Quality and Research & Development Engineering
  • Support Sourcing with:
    • Perform D&B and financial analysis on potential suppliers
    • Act as liaison between suppliers, purchasing and accounts payable to resolve issues.
    • Assist with quotes and perform "full cost of ownership" (landed cost analysis i.e. freight, tariffs, etc)
    • Assist with terms and discounting negotiations.
  • Be a key contributor in the developing, monitoring and maintenance of financial control procedures within site Operations.
  • Share best practices with other ZOLL factories.
  • As needed, travel to and partner with other manufacturing leaders in ZOLL to help drive all ZOLL (i.e. One ZOLL) operating performance.
  • Management or preparation of:
  • Inventory metrics and reporting to be managed and guided in partnership with Site Operations:
    • Inventory levels
    • Material variance analysis
    • Excess and obsolete process management
    • Reserve analysis and preparation
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual comparative financial reports including:
    • Expense actuals to budget,
    • Expense actuals to prior period and prior year,
    • Material costs by product
    • Labor costs and efficiency
    • Overhead costs
    • Other Costs of Goods Sold
  • Provide ROI analysis and recommendations for large capital investments.
  • Special projects as requested.

Skills Requirements:
  • Strong Leadership and teamwork Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy
  • Knowledge of GAAP and detailed accounting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly self-motivated, driven to improve
  • Ability to work in a hands on, fast paced, changing environment
  • Comfortable working with auditors, senior management and site leadership

Required/ Preferred Education and Experience
  • 7 to 10+ years minimum of progressive financial analysis, reporting, and business support, within a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-3+ years minimum leading a finance team
  • Bachelor's degree in (or with a concentration in) finance or accounting
  • MBA and/or CMA a plus
  • Oracle experience a must
