The Manufacturing/Deburr Technician is responsible for providing support for low volume made-to-order medical devices. Primary manufacturing functions to include deburring, finishing, blasting, laser marking, passivation, washing, packaging and labeling.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deburr metal parts (titanium/stainless-steel/nitinol) in a manufacturing environment using prescribed tools
  • Provide accurate and informative feedback about the quality of the product being deburred.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions on deburr methods
  • Perform minor repairs and maintain equipment as directed
  • Record certain operations such as blast pressure and grit, tumble times and media
  • Practice good communications skills with co-workers and supervisors
  • Keep good and correct paperwork and/or records
  • Maintain good care of company tools and machinery
  • Must understand and adhere to all company policies, with attention to but not limited to safety, quality, regulatory, and materials handling

Assist in machine shop activities not limited to but to include:

  • Moving, managing and sawing raw materials
  • Housekeeping as required
  • Order or request materials and/or tools as required
  • Programming & operating laser marking work center
  • Operate passivation line
  • Operate wash equipment
  • Packaging and labeling final product for distribution
  • Aid the Tool & Die Maker Lead in maintaining shop inventories
Expected Areas of Competence
  • Fluent in English; both verbal and written
  • Work within Good Manufacturing Practice regulations
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no moving violations
  • Be able to be bonded if necessary for insurance reasons
  • Able to use a personal computer (check company e-mail daily)
  • Able to understand written instructions
  • Able to stand during regular work hours minus breaks
  • Able to stand and lift objects and materials up to 60 pounds
  • Able to keep written records of work performed
  • Able to effectively use: a Microscope, an Exacto-knife, and hand abrasives including stones and emery cloth
Education/Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
  • Related experience required in the following areas: Manufacturing Quality Systems, deburring/finishing metal parts, titanium medical implants, and reading and understanding mechanical engineering drawings/blueprints.

  • Less than 5%

Compensation Range: $20.57 - $27.83 per hour
