Managing Director, Information Security & Governance

Slalom is looking for a senior leader to establish and advance the Information Security and Governance department to ensure risk reduction and accountability of high risks while driving compliance with Slalom's Security Policy and applicable statutes and regulations enterprise wide. This senior leader will report to the Vice President of Information Security & Governance and have the opportunity to lead a department that enables Slalom's business by focusing on embedding Slalom's Information Security, Governance and Privacy requirements into everything we do and facilitates and supports standards management for key areas including, but not limited to privacy, information security, information governance and compliance.

The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, great presence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels of the Company including - and most importantly - at the senior executive level. Additionally, the candidate must work well under pressure, and have the ability to easily navigate ambiguity and change. Key to being successful in this role is the ability to influence, collaborate, and empower individuals.

The Managing Director of Information Security and Governance will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing Slalom's enterprise-wide vision, strategy, architecture, policies and programs to ensure that Slalom information assets, our client's information assets, and Slalom's partner's information assets are appropriately and adequately protected, while maintaining a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the business. The Senior Director of Information Security and Governance will all be responsible for ensuring that Slalom's technology systems are secure, ensuring that security and business continuity risk and reward decisions are balanced and comply with external regulatory and legislative requirements, and the further creation and or development of an information privacy and security-conscious culture.

What you'll do:
  • Build upon an Information Security and Governance vision and strategy that addresses key policy, process, compliance and privacy objectives. Collaborate with the senior leadership team and work with all aspects of the business and company to develop and drive the security vision. Accountable for designing and delivering the security roadmap.
  • Lead and mentor a collaborative and responsive team of skilled security and risk management professionals covering the breadth of shared operations and services, cross market operations and services, and client delivery activities; working closely and collaboratively with Slalom's existing IT resources.
  • Collaborate with leadership on all aspects of risk management to identify and treat risks accordingly. Serve as an expert advisor to the Executive Team on security matters.
  • Stay current on technological advances in the field and identify areas of use in the organization, particularly focused on cloud-based initiatives and new regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of new global security policy, security standards, guidelines and procedures; further develop emergency procedures and incident response protocols; lead team that acts as the control point during significant security incidents.
  • Understand potential threats, vulnerabilities, and control techniques. Monitor network of vendors and employees to ensure the safeguarding of information assets. Facilitate periodic penetration testing and security audits; establishes risk assessment criteria and methodology.
  • Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies in support of security program and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure that security programs are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations and policies, and to maintain a collaborative and integrated approach to security and privacy.
What you'll bring:
  • At least 15 years of successful experience in security, IT architecture or engineering management. Significant understanding of system Infrastructure technologies including network, server, end-point, mobile, storage.
  • 10 years of senior management experience working with C-Level executives, clients and customers; experience working with Boards of Directors to adopt and implement enterprise level approaches to information security and governance.
  • Experience working an in agile environment that utilizes a mixture of technologies including on-premise, IAAS, and PAAS cloud technologies .
  • Experience in preparing for and leading responses to cybersecurity incidents, including readiness testing, detection, investigation, and remediation, and demonstrated understanding of the business, legal, reputational, and other risks and considerations that cybersecurity threats pose.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into language suitable for a range of audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders and external security community members.
  • Ability to influence others, collaborate cross-functionally, and work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of all relevant security best practice frameworks, with a preference for NIST CyberSecurity Framework, ISO 27000 series, and HIPAA/HITRUST.
  • Knowledge of contemporary threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation and remediation techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of security information and event management (SIEM) and data loss prevention (DLP) tools and services.
  • Experience supporting compliance for applicable regulatory frameworks with particular familiarity with SOC 2 and HIPAA and related certifications. Background with Sarbanes Oxley compliance is a plus.
  • Ability to build, manage and foster a highly-productive team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor degree in Business, MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Compensation and Benefits

The targeted salary range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and location. Please see below for information on Slalom benefits.
