Managers, Business Intelligence Architect & Reporting

Job Location: EMD Serono, Inc., One Technology Place, Rockland, Massachusetts 02370

Responsibilities:

The Manager, Business Intelligence Architect and Reporting will be responsible for understanding complex data sources and points of integration and preparing data for reporting.

In particular, the duties will include the following:

  • Develop actionable and accessible dashboards and reports based on user objective, and support data warehouse design;
  • Work with the key stakeholders in scoping out and translating requirements for new reporting initiatives;
  • Retrieve, organize, and manipulate data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases;
  • Act as a technical lead/architect for development efforts within the reporting (e.g. Tableau) environment;
  • Act as a point person for the business to handle ad hoc requests and questions concerning the data and reporting; and
  • Manage the AWS RedShift Data Source layer with an eye towards best practices, security, and scalability.


  • Requirements and Qualifications:

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    Employer requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field plus five years of progressively more responsible work

    experience developing actionable and accessible dashboards and reports based on user objective, and supporting data warehouse design.

    In addition, the employer requires the candidate to have the following:

  • Demonstrated ability managing the AWS RedShift Data Source layer with an eye towards best practices, security, and scalability gained through five years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability engaging in development efforts within the reporting (e.g. Tableau) environment gained through five years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability retrieving, organizing and manipulating data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases gained through five years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability working with key stakeholders in scoping out and translating requirements for new reporting initiatives gained through five years of work experience; and
  • Demonstrated ability acting as a point person for the business to handle ad hoc requests and questions concerning the data and reporting gained through five years of work experience.


  • All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

    Telecommuting is an option, but the individual must be able to come regularly into the office.
