Position Summary

This position manages the Project Management Office (PMO) by driving program and project management best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that program and project management processes are applied consistently and effectively across all assigned initiatives.
  • Creates and applies standardized project management methodologies, including project definition, planning, risk management, project control, and change management, to ensure a repeatable project delivery process.
  • Collaborates with senior management to establish program and project priorities and ensure IT initiatives align with business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the annual capital request process for technology projects.
  • Over the business relationship management and planning for technology investments, which can be budgeted both internal and external to IT; monitor and support the execution of approved projects to ensure successful completion according to the capital planning timeline.
  • Implements solutions for project planning, delivery, management, tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on the status of programs against budget, timelines, and scope to program/project teams and leadership.
  • Evaluates and mitigates overall program risks.
  • Forecasts the potential impact of program initiatives and enhancements.
  • Designs and enhances the delivery and results of programs/projects by developing program/project management, requirements management, and change management best practices, processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Establishes and manages the IT release calendar and synchronizes each release with external systems.
  • Leads, mentors, and manages assigned staff. Coach and mentor team members to higher performance and career aspirations
  • Provide direct feedback to ensure goals and objectives are met efficiently and effectively
  • Create an environment of continuous learning and help team members overcome obstacles to improve the team's effectiveness.
  • Training (and development of training materials) for internal/remote employees on system application detail
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • B.A. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Currently certified or open to training and receiving accreditation for PMI project management certifications (CAPM or PMP).
  • Self-starter and collaborator with ability to effectively engage business stakeholders directly across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing, in an easy to understand and actionable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient within system platforms of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence
