Dr. Shah Ardalan has been president of LSC-University Park since its founding.Location address is 20515 SH 249 (TX 249 and Louetta Road), Houston, TX 77070.Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE:The Manager of Student Activities manages a campus-wide comprehensive extra and co-curricular student program. Position serves to foster the educational process outside the academic classroom through collaboration with college faculty and staff. These activities include student clubs, organizations, and campus events. Oversees service-oriented operations including those necessary to enhance student participation, good citizenship, success, and retention. Manages the college-wide student activities budget. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Leads, designs, and manages student program activities to include interacting daily with faculty, staff and students; Hires, trains and supervises staffPromotes and monitors student involvement, trains and advises faculty advisors and student leadersWorks collaboratively with College Relations in coordinating and evaluating methods of marketing student programs, events, and activitiesRegularly assesses and analyzes student needs, interests, and events for developing programs, policies, goals, objectives, and plans for reports and evaluationsDevelops and coordinates campus life activities for day and evening studentsSupports the chair of the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee with coordinating and administering the student activity fee hearing process and developing the budgetProvides representation for the college at outreach/recruitment events and activitiesDevelops, coordinates, recruits, and provides oversight and leadership for various campus programs and activities Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to meet specific deadlines on a daily basisAbility to respond to emergency calls as neededExcellent written and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and facilitation skillsAbility to work in a diverse college setting.Intermediate skills in computer and database applications PHYSICAL ABILITIES:The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipmentInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the positionWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hiring salary range is $52,430 - $60,295.
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
