The OSP Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading on-time construction of Fiber plants in conjunction with our design, construction and locate contractors. Coordinates with Project Managers and contractors to ensure efficient, highest quality, timely and on-budget construction and splicing completion.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the installation of outside plant facilities.
  • Responsible of Safety oversite of construction activities.
  • Performs quality control assessment of all plant types.
  • Assists contractors with complex designs and resolve issues with projects.
  • Coordinates splicing diagrams to construction contractors for all platforms.
  • Evaluates new OSP products and designs for possible implementation.
  • Performs skills assessment of assigned Construction Engineers, Construction Leaders, Construction Assistants, and Contractors.
  • Initiates and directs plans to motivate workers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and to go beyond what is expected.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
  • Responsible for timely performance evaluation of employees based upon measurable objective criteria.
  • Responsible for training and development of all employees.
  • Communicates with Director with weekly reports and issues identified.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.

 



What you need:

  • Degree in Communications or a minimum 4 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry installing, repairing and maintaining outside plant facilities.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office / Excel 
  • Must possess the ability to navigate HES for the purpose of tracking Service Orders, Trouble Tickets, and Facility Records.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of RUS and NEC codes as they apply to the outside plant construction and maintenance

Additional Qualifications Desired:

  • Team leader or supervisor experience directly related to OSP construction and maintenance.
