Manager of Prevention Education and Outreach

The MIT Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response Office (IDHR) in the Office of the Chancellor seeks a manager of prevention education and outreach to collaborate on providing training, education, and outreach to MIT students, postdocs, faculty, and staff on topics related to discrimination and discriminatory harassment. Will develop, coordinate, implement, and assess comprehensive prevention and education initiatives on topics that include policies and procedures, reporting options, bystander intervention, and culture-change efforts related to discrimination and discriminatory harassment (e.g., sexual misconduct, gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, and stalking).

Responsibilities include collaborating with other campus offices/departments to develop, implement, and embed prevention education; developing a strategic vision and implementation plan for the prevention team and setting annual goals; managing day-to-day operations and supervising IDHR education staff; creating and managing evidence-based primary prevention and awareness initiatives and delivering intersectional and socioculturally relevant prevention and intervention programs serving diverse populations; and keeping up-to-date on best practices and relevant federal/state laws.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, e.g., student affairs, higher education administration, social work, public health, psychology, etc.; Five years' relevant professional experience in higher education wellness promotion, anti-discrimination education, or interpersonal violence prevention Initiative Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills Knowledge of Title IX and Clery Act and trends, legal obligations, and initiatives nationally and locally Proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed work under time constraints Ability to cultivate partnerships in MIT's diverse community of students, staff, and faculty Comfort with public speaking to large and small audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a higher education environment Master's degree Two years' experience supervising staff/student interns

Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
