Description:

The GameStop (GME) Instock Operations org is seeking an experienced Manager of Analytics to join us a build a world-class analytics team. The manager and their team will own reporting and metrics across the GME supply chain, and will be responsible for building the data models and algorithms to fuel the next generation of GME systems for demand forecasting and proactive/reactive buying.

The Manager role will include hiring and developing a team of BI Engineers and Data Engineers, identifying and balancing the right skillsets across the team to meet the team's mandate. The Manager will be responsible for managing the team's priorities, roadmap, and work processes. Customers for the team will include the Vice President of Instock Operations, the Chief Operating Officer, and other supply chain and merchandising leaders throughout GME.

The mandate for the manager and their team will include:

  • Building a data-driven supply chain via the smart use of metrics and KPIs

  • Feeding weekly business reviews and daily standups with the necessary metrics for business leaders to review and audit

  • Providing insights into the supply chain, including defects and opportunities for optimization

  • Building high-quality SKU-level demand forecasting models to inform buying and financial planning

  • Conducting ad hoc analyses of business and supply chain issues to identify issues and their drivers and potential resolutions

  • Assisting the rest of the Instock Operations org with their analytics needs

In addition, the Manager will be responsible for:

  • Hiring skilled engineers to meet the mandate above

  • Developing their team, including helping them learn new skillsets as new needs and projects arise

  • Making judicious use of temporary resources, contractors, and central teams to scale efforts and impact

  • Aligning with upper management on the metrics and KPIs best suited to auditing and running the business and supply chain

  • Communicating findings of analyses to upper management and peer teams

  • Auditing their team's work to find ways to improve and streamline efforts

The ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional analytics and science teams, as well as experience in supply chain analytics.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or other related field.

  • 5-7 years' experience in business analytics and/or data science

  • 2+ years' experience managing cross-functional analytics teams

  • A track record of communicating with senior leaders

  • High proficiency with SQL, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in analytics, engineering, statistics, mathematics, computer science, business, or other related field.

  • Experience with Google Big Query

  • A working knowledge of Machine Learning or Deep Learning

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement and measurement methodologies

  • 3+ years' experience in supply chain or operations
