Manager, Food SafetyPosition Summary
Primary Purpose
The purpose of this position is to design, implement and manage the corporate food safety, quality and compliance programs for North American factories. The Food Safety Manager ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal food laws and champions the Ferrara quality promise.
Major Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:
- Manages and develops direct staff
- Creates and supports Ferrara corporate Quality, Food Safety, and compliance programs, including the review of policies, procedures, and guidance
- Ensures implementation of programs and reports Key Performance Indicators
- Conducts raw material and finished product risk assessments
- Develops mitigation strategies for production and environmental risks
- Works with cross-functional partners to ensure risks are adequately addressed throughout the full product life-cycle
- Supports facility quality and regulatory audits
- Understands and demonstrates the company's core values
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or other relevant degree and substantial experience in quality and food safety
- Master's degree or food safety certification preferred
- Minimum 7 years' experience
- Proficiency in HACCP and FSMA
- GFSI and PCQI certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, quality and sanitation practices
- Strong working knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Bilingual/Spanish Speaking a plus
