The Manager, Employee Relations (ER) is responsible for administering the company's leave of absence policies for all staff. In addition this role manages all employee relations according to the company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, drives, and delivers ER strategies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Manages a team of ER professionals
  • Coordinates and manages the employee relations programs and functions at each location
  • Develops, interprets, and recommends policies, procedures, and courses of action
  • Provides consultation, and coaching to management regarding ER matters and how to properly document performance issues ensuring consistent corporate practices
  • Manages HR/ER investigations, including gathering and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions, recommends and influences management actions
  • Conducts high profile HR investigations
  • Serves as liaison for employment litigation matters
  • Manages workers compensation program according to company policies; Assures claim filing is completed timely
  • Partners with HR Operations with administering unemployment claims
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; JD preferred
  • 5+ of years progressive experience in human resource management, with focus on employee relations
  • SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state leave requirements
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strict confidentiality and sound judgment must be applied at all times in this role
  • Experience in working in a centralized ER model; ability to work collaboratively with HR team, HRBPs, and management
