Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Shift: M - F 700am - 3:30pm

Comp: $16- $21.50 per hour

Job Summary: Maintenance Technician reports to the supervisor and is responsible for addressing trouble calls and performing associated maintenance and repair activities on facilities equipment, both basic and complex machines. The position assists engineers and technicians with advanced repairs. The role works under minimal supervision and contact with external suppliers and customers is essential. Cutting, welding, pipe fitting, aligning, and controls validation are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The technician must believe in working safely and follow all safety procedures, compliance, and protocols. Pre task planning is required before any job is started. Must complete OSHA 10 training with-in first 90 days of employment. No accidents are acceptable. Be a leader of behavioral safety.
  • Performs preventive maintenance activities on facility following written instructions. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of expendables (i.e. belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, alignment, balance or vibration.
  • Analyzes findings during PM and recommends changes to PM content based upon findings. Documents PM activities within the CMMS. Completes assigned work orders and documents completion within the CMMS. Identifies and completes repairs including, motors, pumps, piping systems, steam traps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices.
  • Starts devices to test their performance. Uses manufacture's documentation to identify, diagnose, and correct facility equipment's mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and/or machine logic failures.
  • Diagnose, trouble shoot and repair complex mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Work with other team members to accomplish our mission, including housekeeping, movement of materials, office set ups, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, painting, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED. Must be 21 years old or older Trade school, Industry training or College a plus.
  • Minimum of two(2) or more year's related experience is required. Specific experience, installation and repairs with skills in welding, metal work and fabrication. Mechanical and Electrical service experience.
  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak before groups of customers or employees of organization.

COMPETENCIES
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email and will possess the aptitude to be trained in computer applications.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
