If you are looking to make an impact in a meaningful way, join us at Tyson Foods where we are raising the world's expectations for how much good food can do! We are currently hiring for Maintenance Technicians at our facility in Rome, GA that exclusively produces Granola and Cereal Products.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

This position has a start rate of $25.33/hr. We currently have open positions for 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Lubricating, rebuilding, and replacing parts.
• Cleaning machinery.
• Assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems.
• Provide technical support for all phases of the operation.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training on other machines and/or in other areas.

Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of maintenance work experience in a manufacturing facility having previously worked in electrical and mechanical fields or have equivalent technical school experience in those fields.
• Must be willing to work 8-12-hour shifts and up to six days a week.
• Applicant must have 6 months of continuous work history in the last 12 months.
• Proficiency in multiple skill clusters including basic electricity, fluid power, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Must be able to read equipment manuals, blueprints, etc
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• Must be willing to work in a hot environment with temperatures reaching up to 90 degrees.
• Must be willing to lift up to 50lbs.
• Responsibility (authority) for reporting quality and food safety noncompliance to authorized personnel with authority to initiate action.

All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.
