Essential:

  • Thorough working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical energy
  • Ability to lead a team with Columbia's core values
  • Basic computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet
Preferred:
  • 3 years experience troubleshooting equipment
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the entire process for manufacturing hardwood veneer or plywood.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and application
  • 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Maintenance Lead

Summary: The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading the maintenance crew/shift to safely maintain and improve mechanical and electrical systems throughout the facility with emphasis on maximizing uptime through preventative and continuous improvement systems. Must be able to train and motivate others to action in order to accomplish multiple objectives. Must follow, train employees on, and reinforce all safety policies, procedures, and work practices.

Key Responsibilities include:

Overall safety performance of maintenance employees

Employee management: Leading, training, evaluation, conflict resolution, etc.

Monitor all preventative and predictive maintenance for timely completion and corrective actions required

Knowledgeable of all safety and operational processes on all equipment and machine centers

Technical Responsibilities: Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical processes.
