At the Reutlingen site, Customer bespoke forming fabrics are manufactured with the highest standards of precision and quality in various production areas such as warping, weaving, heat-setting, seaming and finishing.

General Scope of Responsibilites

Under the direction of Supervisor or Team Leader, performs any and all duties required to machine components produced in our manufacturing facility. Produce components per engineering prints with safety and quality as their focus. Multiply alloys and materials will regularly be used.

Specific Responsibilites

Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and manual grinding, milling, lathe and planer machines, fits and/or assembles parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses knife grinder, lathe, miller, planer, measuring and other equipment to perform job.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to grind, machine or assemble parts.
• Must be able to machine long parts with accuracy
• Performs preventative maintenance to maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment
• Inspects work and completes inspection forms.
• Handles materials as necessary, loading and unloading
• Maintains an organized and clean work area.
• Provides in-house shop support as directed by supervisor

SupervisionReceived:

The employee carries out the work within broad guidelines such as objectives, definitions, and budget. His/her recommendations are reviewed for soundness of judgment but are normally accepted as sound. Works with limited supervision.

Position Requirements:

  • High School / GED education preferred, but equivalent work experience & knowledge acceptable.
  • 3+ years fabrication experience

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, engineering drawings, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write effective correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of mathematics and basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Effort & Working Conditions

Working conditions can include production/fabrication facilities, paper mills, offices and vendor sites.

Position requires ability to work the manufacturing plant with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines and machining centers. Candidate required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, grasp, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, maneuver within tight spaces, climb on machinery, and routinely lift up to of 50 lbs. Must be able to exercise independent judgment, especially in determining the best method of distribution, pay attention to detail, possess excellent mobility, solid visual acuity, good hearing, coordination, balance, and manual dexterity. Position requires ability to endure long hours and work to the highest standards of safety, quality, 5S housekeeping at all times, as well as wearing necessary personal protective equipment. All duties performed with or without a reasonable accommodation(s).
