The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is looking to hire Medical Assistants for either placement into an outpatient clinic or as a float in the Clinical Support Team, Your Choice!

***$1500 Sign-On Bonus Offered for this position! ***

In Boise: Boise Pediatrics, Bown Crossing Family Med & Urgent Care (East Boise), Cancer Care, Cardiology, Emerald Family Medicine, Emerald Occupational Medicine, ENT-Hearing & Balance, Lake Hazel Family Medicine, Maternal Fetal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pulmonary, Trauma Services, and Wound Care

In Meridian: Meridian Health Plaza COVID-19 Testing, Meridian Pediatrics, and Sleep Medicine

In Eagle: West Chinden Family Medicine

About the MA Position:

As a Medical Assistant at Saint Alphonsus, you will work in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. You will support licensed staff and provider(s) in providing an excellent patient experience by efficiently meeting the patient's needs. You also support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members. You work under the supervision of the physician and/or Advanced Practice Provider. Clinical oversight is provided by the RN Supervisor, Lead Nurse and/or SAMG Nursing Administration.

Our ideal candidateis personable, detail oriented, a quick learner and has a passion for providing a high-quality patient care. He or she will also need to utilize excellent communication skills while communicating with patients and families. The ability to be adaptable and flexible, provide compassionate care while utilizing independent decision making and critical thinking skills will be essential in this position.

Work Schedule: Initially you would work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, around the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. Once you transition to a clinic or float pool position then the work schedule will change based on clinic and health system need.

About the Orientation and Training Process:

As you are transitioning into Saint Alphonsus Medical Group, our Clinical Support Team will provide an orientation program that will be critical to your success whether you are a new or experienced MA joining our team.

Our goal is to provide you a path to a successful integration into a clinic setting or remaining part of our support team as a float. Your Choice!

Our Orientation offers a comprehensive, individualized orientation program that focuses on your needs and provides you with the knowledge and confidence to apply and work in either a primary care clinic or a specialty clinic.

Our Orientation includes:

  • General information and e-learning on items such as Mission, Core Values, Safety, HIPAA, and confidentiality
  • Training in electronic medical records, immunizations, and regulatory guidance.
  • New hires and preceptors are assigned 1:1, for 3-6 weeks determined by your needs. Preceptors support you through your on-boarding journey, providing introductions to others, demonstrate process and procedures, provide resources, and sign you off on your clinical skills.
  • We have found bonds are often formed during orientation and continue beyond your training.
  • Ongoing communication with your manager.

Once orientation is completed, you decide if you want to be a part of our clinical support team (a float pay differential would be added) or if you want to search for a "home" clinic.

Education and Certification Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire

General Requirements:
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
  • Experience with process improvement or LEAN philosophy preferred.
