JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Designer is focused on designing control panels and layouts for site-based conveyor systems for distribution, fulfillment, and warehouse applications. Applicant will be part of a controls and engineering team deploying complex material handling solutions for various customers and container types. A successful applicant will have a desire to learn and excellent attention-to-detail skills while creating and checking electrical schematics. Candidates should be able to work efficiently under the guidance of an engineering manager while leading their own tasks to completion with minimal supervision and in good harmony with the rest of the project team.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize Autodesk ACAD-E and other Fortna custom tools to complete drawings for control panels, power distribution single lines, conveyor layouts, and other electrical drawings as required.
  • Develops fabrication drawings for projects, products and prototypes.
  • Deploy and commission complex controls solutions in customer facilities.
  • Be able to work and meet deadlines under pressure within aggressive schedules.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the group and / or company to identify common problems and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree/Certificate in Computer Aided Design - OR - Minimum (2) years drafting experience in a material handling or machine design related field.
  • Basic knowledge of NEC and NFPA and UL508A.
  • Experience using AutoCAD-Electrical (ACAD-E) to create electrical drawings and schematics.

The base salary range for this role is $64,200 to $96,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
