JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently seeking skilled Lease Operators to join our team. As a Production Oilfield Lease Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of oil and gas wells, as well as associated equipment and facilities within a specified production zone. Your primary duties will involve ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities, monitoring production rates, and conducting routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.

This is a full-time position that may entail working on weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. You will report to the Production Manager and work from an oil and gas production site.

Location: Victoria/Vanderbilt, Texas

Work Schedule: 7x7 Rotation. This is a locally based schedule. Due to the nature of this full-time, long-term position, candidates are required to reside within a 50-mile radius or 1 hour drive of the site. This schedule allows you to return home every night, and as such, there are no accommodations provided for man-camps or housing per diem. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and control oil and gas production from assigned leases to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct routine inspections of well sites, facilities, and equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of production, injection, and operating data for all wells.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including pumps, separators, and pipelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to oil and gas production.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure the safe and efficient completion of well maintenance and repair activities.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as spills or equipment malfunctions, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Experience with oilfield software (e.g., SCADA, CYGNET, eVin) is preferred.
  • SAP Experience

Well Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Regularly inspect and monitor wellheads, pumping units, and related equipment.
  • Optimize well performance by adjusting pump speeds, volumes, and pressures as necessary.
Production Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues related to production disruptions promptly.
Data Recording and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of daily production activities, including well tests, fluid levels, and equipment readings.
  • Generate and submit regular reports on production volumes, equipment status, and any incidents.
Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices.
Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including equipment failures, leaks, or other incidents.
  • Implement appropriate emergency procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
Communication:
  • Collaborate with other team members, field personnel, and supervisors to coordinate activities and share critical information.
  • Report any issues, concerns, or potential improvements to the relevant authorities.
Familiarity with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various equipment is crucial for an Oilfield Lease Operator/Pumper to guarantee the safe and efficient production of oil and gas. Continuous training is also necessary to stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices. The role of an Oilfield Lease Operator/Pumper involves working with a diverse range of equipment to monitor, maintain, and enhance oil and gas production. The specific equipment utilized may vary depending on the well type and production methods applied, but the following is a general list commonly associated with this position:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • 2-5 years of experience in oilfield operations, preferably as a Lease Operator
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and processes
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and management.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and wear personal protective equipment as required.
