RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst.The Lead Financial Analyst interacts with senior finance officers and department Directors to provide relevant, accurate, and timely information. The Analyst performs research, collects data, and skillfully organizes and presents the analysis to management in written or oral format. The Lead Financial Analyst exercises objective, independent judgment in developing financial recommendations for management, and also develops and trains staff in analyzing and organizing information into a coherent report, also trains on how to recommend and implement solutions based on this analysis, subject to the approval of management.Duties include:
  • Provides support and assistance in developing and communicating actionable information at all levels of the organization and provides leadership in communication and presenting effectively both internally and externally
  • Provides support and assistance to leaders with productivity and its impact of financial operations
  • Focuses on process improvement strategies of financial outcomes in support of process initiatives
  • Provides coaching to co-workers appropriately and effectively as part of overall responsibility, and has ability to help staff to frame issues and apply analytical and critical thinking skills to problem resolution
  • Coordinates projects as required in conjunction with the Manager and staff
  • Ensures all documentation is current for all areas of responsibility
  • Coordinates projects by maintaining a project plan and anticipating potential roadblocks that staff may encounter and taking corrective action so projects are completed on time
  • Reviews and validates financial information, assumptions and methodology based on a thorough understanding of financial concepts, healthcare principles and systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or; Bachelor's degree in non-accounting discipline with adequate accounting course work including intermediate accounting and other upper level financial and accounting courses
  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare finance/accounting, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Complete understanding of double entry accounting and an operational understanding of routine accounting functions
  • Working knowledge of personal computer applications and spreadsheet analysis
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at one time
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with proven analytical and organizational abilities
  • Computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
