The Lead Financial Analyst performs high-level financial functions including financial analysis, financial modeling, business insight development, driving process improvements, creating, and implementing KPI reporting, strategic pricing and contract negotiation as well as partnering with key business leaders to drive impactful initiatives. This includes revenue, all areas that may be impacted by billing/pricing, revenue recognition, and various other aspects such as variable compensation plans. This position is a subject matter expert and deals with issues of complexity, which require decision-making and creative solutions. Plans, coordinates, and schedules individual and/or team efforts in support of driving initiatives to completion. This position provides decision support to the sales function [Client Engagement] and the Connected Car Team within the Insurance Solutions portfolio of Risk Solutions Group.

Primary Accountabilities:

General:

  • Understands complex and underlying data relationships. Pulls ideas, issues, and observations into a clear and concise presentations. Makes appropriate recommendations to multiple levels of management.
  • Manages the financial function and plans and monitors workflow to ensure all work is completed on a timely basis including month-end close activities, monthly forecasts, annual budget, and supplemental deliverables to FPR&A.
  • Identifies risks and opportunities based on analytical efforts and business input, develops recommendations, and helps drive implementation of associated action plans.
  • Is tasked with more complex strategic analysis and ad-hoc projects due to high level of business knowledge and proven track record of informative and insightful analysis.
  • Provides leadership and analytical support to others within the finance department.
  • Responsible for interacting and partnering with various functional and business unit departments to develop analysis around key initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develops deep knowledge of the Insurance Solutions products and business.

In Support of Client Engagement:
  • Creates a robust set of Pipeline metrics, analytics, and reporting working closely with sales [Client Engagement] leadership. The goal here is to greatly enhance our visibility into Pipeline trends to assist in forecasting incremental revenue and driving consistency and rigor into the management of the Pipeline.
  • Create and maintain accurate pipeline PowerBI dashboards [in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Team] that highlight key sales KPIs (ACV, velocity, coverage, average deal size, etc.).
  • Develop new reporting tools to drive sales performance and provide guidance to leadership team of qualitative and quantitative data. Report and analyze key performance metrics accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Assists with product pricing activities and analysis as well as being involved in specific customer contract negotiations to provide "what if" scenario modeling while gaining an understanding of the Four Corners approach.
  • Understands and studies the competitor landscape to inform internal pricing strategies.
  • Provides thought leadership on sales variable compensation plans to drive intended new sales growth objectives.
  • Supports overall product pricing strategies and key customer contract pricing/proposal development.

In Support of the Connected Car Team:
  • Supports the Metal/Connected Car team across the forecasting, budgeting, and business case investment processes.
  • Learns the OEM market and the value propositions of our products.
  • Creates metrics and KPIs as measurements of success.
  • Provides financial reporting to key leadership stakeholders.


Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5-7 Years prior experience of substantial diverse financial analysis and accounting
  • BA/BS, Accounting/Finance
  • MBA or certification preferred, i.e. CMA, CFA or CPA
  • Advanced computer skills including excel, Essbase, PeopleSoft
  • Requires attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify problem areas when reviewing data/information and question inconsistencies to determine proper resolution
  • Advanced organizational skills, and proven time management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business partnership skills including the ability to challenge the business, offer alternatives, and support proposals with solid analytics and qualitative justification.
  • Planning and Organizational Awareness
  • Proven advanced analytical skills
  • Conceptual Thinking /Decision Making (Problem Solving)
  • Ability to manage through change and ability to work with management at all levels
  • Experience in visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Experience in driving projects to effectively meet aggressive deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Prior experience providing financial leadership to a sales team is preferred
