Job Description

GPI Geospatial is seeking a Surveying Project Manager /Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) with experience with FDOT projects. The candidate will be proficient in managing all aspects of FDOT surveying and mapping assignments and experienced in surveying calculations, data reduction, boundary/right of way resolution, GNSS and differential level processing, control planning, and creation of final deliverables for database submittals.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of FDOT surveying standards and procedures
  • Develops control plans and surveyor's reports
  • Perform complex survey control computations, alignment/right of way/boundary resolution, and topographic mapping from conventionally surveyed data
  • Facilitate production efforts to ensure the quality of deliverables, proper coordination with field crews and technicians, and supervises general data management practices.
  • Track and report project budgets and schedules
  • Implement quality assurance efforts to ensure the quality of surveying data from survey fieldwork
  • Provide staff training to carry out project assignments
  • Ensure the quality of work meets state and local requirements
  • Effective communicator with production staff
  • Assist Survey Manager with project resourcing and scheduling
  • Prepare proposals for surveying services and assist with RFP response packages
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM), a plus
  • Five plus years of experience as Survey Project Manager with FDOT projects
  • Degree in Surveying or Geomatics preferred
  • Experience using Leica Infinity, MicroStation, Geopak, and Open Roads with FDOT Standards
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate experience in project/phase management for large-scale public-sector survey projects is preferred

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
