We are currently looking for a Laboratory Coordinator, based in our Chelmsford, MA office, to join our team! The qualified individual will be responsible for maintaining and manage all aspects of our Massachusetts Training Center (MTC) training and demonstration laboratory, in fulfillment of company sales and technical objectives. Implement action items related to customer and account manager activities. Keep and manage data and record fidelity, in a timely manner. Present experimental data and provide lectures for training both internally and externally as needed per the Massachusetts Training Center (MTC) schedule. Fulfill objectives shared by Science &Technology organization (S&T) and Sales organization tasks as requested. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate install, startup, and maintain all lab assets (equipment, liquid handling, etc), and ensure alignment with QMS.
  • Establish and regulate all SOPs regarding laboratory operation, safety etc., and ensure alignment with AKBA S&T.
  • Conduct and report on application work on AKBA products, as directed, and ensure alignment with AKBA S&T. Present to both internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct and report on customer POC's, evaluation and trainings, as directed. Maintain and ship POC kits.
  • Conduct and report on AKBA employee laboratory trainings, as well as applications and internal consults, as directed. Present data and findings to both internal and external audiences.
  • Cross train and coach lab intern(s).
  • Participate on a limited basis (TBD) in field responsibilities (customer site evaluations, local tradeshows).
  • Lead laboratory support activities, including preparing and maintaining reagents, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and organizing lab spaces.
  • Conduct laboratory and office tours. Contribute to miscellaneous admin responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
  • AS/AA required, BS/BA preferred.
  • At least 3 years in life science laboratory environment. Lab management or facilities management role within a biotechnology company highly preferred.
  • Familiarity/training on quality and safety objectives and certifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Office.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills. Presentation skills are required.

Physical Demands:
  • Laboratory environment. Full knowledge of all safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Potential for domestic and international travel, as required (< 10%).
