POSITION SUMMARY:The New York Film Academy NY Kids Summer Program is looking for an organized, skilled, and efficient seasonal Equipment Manager for the Kids Summer Camps. The Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Kids Equipment Room from the build out to coordinating and maintaining equipment used on a daily basis.

New York Film Academys Kids Summer Camps provide intensive programs in filmmaking, acting, animation, game design, musical theatre, and photography for campers of ages 10 to 13 years old. TAs are role model figures for our energetic, artistic camper body, and must commit to helping maintain an educational, safe, and fun environment for the campers.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.
    Develop and implement standard operating process for equipment check-outs for shoot daysDetermine equipment needs for classrooms and ensure classes are prepped on a daily basisCatalog equipment and maintain inventory for the duration of the summer camp programEnsure equipment is in working condition and process replacement requests, when neededCreate and maintain effective channels of communication with the Kids Office, Kids Edit Lab, and Main Equipment RoomMaintain various logistics necessary to ensure the smooth running of productionAssist TA Coordinator with an onboarding process for newly hired TAs, including training, orientation, uniform distribution, etcEstablish & oversee execution of safety protocols and shooting guidelines to ensure an effective production environment that guarantees quality deliverables for campersAssist with the build out before the program begins Assist with the breakdown after the program endsSupport the Kids Office with facilities and operations needs on a needs basisSupervise camper production crews on location shoots and offer technical assistance to campers to ensure their proper and safe use of equipmentProvide hands-on assistance in a classroom setting An ability to support Hands On Camera classes with instruction or assisting should it be necessaryOther duties as assigned by Kids Camp Director, Assistant Director, or senior management

    Strong technical grasp of digital cinematography and of basic light set-up, including 3-point lighting, basic power distribution, light control with gels, etc
    Strong technical grasp of film equipment such as HMC, 5D Mark II, shotgun mics, tripods, onboard shock mounts, c-stands, boom poles, etc Ability to work hard, respond to emergencies, and always maintain the safety and educational environment for the studentsUnderstand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions Perform basic mathAbility to work independently with minimal supervision
    A working grasp of Adobe Premiere is a plusExcellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds including camper, faculty and staffExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    High School/GED required Film/Video Production Experience Experience providing technical support on film shoots and/or art events required.Prior Equipment Room Experience is preferredExperience working in a fast paced multitasking result driven environment Attention to detail and team member mentalityIntermediate proficiency Microsoft Office Suites and GSuiteExperience and comfortability with students ages 10-13
