Job Purpose

This position is primarily responsible for managing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) relationships of assigned customer accounts in consumer electronics market. Identify new program opportunities from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and coordinate activities within the organization to secure business. Focus on new business development and troubleshooting problems within key markets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Focus on assigned Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customer (Google, Meta, Amazon). Work with local teams to gain share at each. Assess requirements and coordinate AkzoNobel resources accordingly
    • Present the various AkzoNobel technologies and coordinate efforts to gain product approvals
    • Develop a strong technical understanding of new and existing product lines
    • Demonstrate technical selling ability to explain unique technologies to prospective customers
    • Develop a thorough understanding of the market and value chain. Document appropriately
      • Coordinate account sales activities by targeting, developing and monitoring sales function and performance
      • Meet personal sales targets as established, incorporating the full range of products/services within identified markets or geography
      • Regularly call on assigned existing and potential customers to maintain close contact with the marketplace
      • Cascade information to designated customers on features and benefits of available products/services
      • Identify and follow up on significant business opportunities, pinpoint existing and/or potential problems, and arrange for resolution
      • Deliver periodical business reviews and actively participate in development of business growth and sales support plans for designated customers
  • Independently prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions.
    • Provide global support to customers in the United States and Asia
    • Meet with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers on a regular basis to manage new and existing programs throughout the product life cycle
    • Seek growth opportunities through new business

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 1-3 years' experience drivingsales growth strategies in consumer electronics or coatings market segment
  • Strong account management and project management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all customer levels (business owners, purchasing personnel, engineering, product users, internal customer)
  • Ability to travel over 70% of time and work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekend
  • Must be fluent in Mandarin
  • Experience with Asian business culture preferred

  • Compensation: This position will receive an annual base salary and is eligible for an annual 35% bonus.
