SUMMARY

The Junior System Administrator assists the CNI IT Department in implementation, maintenance and administration of CNI's Core systems, performing engineering, integration, logistics and continuous technical and programmatic support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.

Manages the daily system backups for CNI's Core systems.

Monitors networks and computer systems for security breaches, through use of software that detects intrusions, anomalous system behavior and unauthorized network-attached devices.

Plans and participates in cyber security improvement projects for the purpose of maintaining a mature security program for CNI.

Effectively responds to all reported security incidents and other reports of suspicious activity.

Analyzes system/equipment to ensure it is operational when needed.

Evaluates and recommends procedures and innovative techniques and methods.

Presents briefings and develop technical reports to document progress and results.

Helps identify human factors necessary to operate, maintain, support and control equipment/systems during the basic design and development stages.

Analyzes system/equipment to ensure it is operational when needed.

Helps determine the means to advance projects and evaluates significant modifications to production methods or materials due to changes in requirements, technological advances, or shortcomings in design and/or performance.

Evaluates and recommends procedures and innovative techniques and methods.

Analyzes and studies performance requirements against a wide range of diverse considerations, including safety and human factors, technical risks, functionality, reliability, failure analysis, quality assurance, cost and environmental impact.

Assists in the evaluation of technology, components, and systems by developing evaluation criteria, performing evaluations and documents results.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole.Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years' of systems support experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, bash).

Working knowledge of Microsoft O365, Networking fundamentals and Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.

General Virtualization experience.

General Linux administration experience.

Knowledge of Azure or AWS based solutions.

Knowledge of SAN Storage technologies and concepts.

Knowledge of backup and restore best practices and concepts.

Security Competencies.

Knowledge of cyber security technologies and best practices.

Knowledge of information security best practices (NIST, CMMC, SOC 2, ISO).

Knowledge of Server patching best practices.

Strong knowledge in MS office to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software suites.

Excellent communication skills.

Solid organizational skills relevant to carrying out day-to-day responsibilities.

Skilled in planning and setting up room requirements for events and meetings.

Proficient in verbal, written and listening skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Detail-oriented with ability to effectively multi-task.

Ability to learn and apply new knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professiona1journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
