JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, LLC, a leading U.S. manufacturer of magnesia-based products, seeks a licensed journeyman electrician for its Manistee, MI production facility.

This position consists of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all aspects of plant operations and facility equipment, new equipment installations, good housekeeping, and maintaining established preventative maintenance programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair and maintain production equipment
  • Practice safe work habits. Follows all company safety protocols and hazard recognition activities. Follow proper lock out tag out procedures as required. Completes all OSHA required training as required and correct any unsafe conditions as necessary
  • Responds to calls from supervisors or operators to repair equipment as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Participates in daily meetings and reports identified electrical issues
  • Installing/rebuilding various production or plant support electrical equipment as needed
  • Analyze and report preventative electrical maintenance needs and requirements
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems in a timely manner
  • Independently performs all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected
  • Takes the lead and initiates resolution of technical, unusual or complex problems or issues
  • Interact with employees in a positive manner and promote a cooperative working environment
  • Troubleshoot digital and analog systems
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports and other documents. Ability to respond to supervisor inquiries
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Visual acuity, clear speech & hearing ability, hand/eye coordination
  • Walking, climbing stairs and occasional ladders, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting to perform the essential functions of this position
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and vision to safely fulfill all in-plant job requirements
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Licensed Electrician - Journeyman or Masters license required
  • Industrial and programmingexperience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems required
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools
  • Pre-employment WorkKeys testing, NOCTI tests required
  • Excellent AC and DC circuit knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in electrical installations for main and control power wiring as well as installing conduit
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
  • Pass the required background check, physical examination and drug screens
  • Ability and willingness to work 8-12 hour shifts and the flexibility to work all shifts
