The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the oversight of inventory control at his/her assigned facility. The Inventory Control Specialist will drive and monitor inventory accuracy throughout the warehousing processes: from the receipt of inventory on inbound orders, packaging of finished goods, and on to the shipment of inventory on outbound orders. The Inventory Control Specialist is also responsible for timely investigation and resolution of inventory issues. The primary functions of the Inventory Control Specialist are listed below, but the scope of this position will likely grow and will be challenging.

Primary Functions

  • Act to resolve of all discrepancies, erroneous transactions, and inventory errors daily at his/her assigned facility.
  • Support the driving down excess (salable) inventory generated by the business via being a participating member of the Excess Inventory Task Force.
  • Responsible for tracking KPI's such as inventory accuracy, write-off / write-in data, and other applicable measures as required.
  • Responsible for the daily PRD and TFR transactions. This will involve the ability to research and find root cause for discrepancies.
  • Must be willing to work in a chemical environment and will be responsible for driving process improvements amongst the assigned facility, developing correction actions, and developing KPIs to improvements.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, plant / operations management, supply chain or related.
  • 1-3 years of Inventory Control experience.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced PC and spreadsheet literacy to monitor and track various key performance indicators.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or D365 is preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to drive stand up forklift or want to learn.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

This role can include up to 5% travel.

Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat (non-weather) and loud noise levels.
