JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose: Helps support the corporate purchasing strategy for all purchased materials. Responsible for overall supporting material availability to external manufacturing locations.

Expectation: Maintain a high level of data accuracy for materials managed by corporate purchasing. Demonstrate professional communication with management, associates, and suppliers to drive business.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees reorder buying and works closely with buyers and suppliers to ensure adequate inventory levels for supporting materials.
  • Oversees and maintains current inventory.
  • Coordinates physical inventories and cycle counts as needed.
  • Ensures all data entry, including PO's, SKU's, vendor information, and other basic data is input into ERP software in a timely manner.
  • Oversees month-end performance reporting and action plans.
  • Quarterly review of aged inventory and product performance.
  • Works with buyers and suppliers on product receiving, tagging, transfers, E&O, deliveries, and scrap.
Skills/Requirements:
  • Previous experience in replenishment ordering and inventory management a plus.
  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • He/she will need to have a keen attention to detail, the ability to prioritize workload, be well organized, and multi-task. The individual must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Ability to travel to out-of-state supplier locations frequently.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP experience a plus.
Education/Experience:
  • At least 3 years of buying/merchandising experience required, with 1 or more years in a leadership role.
  • Business/Supply Chain Degree or equivalent of 5 years of experience in buying and inventory management.
  • 25% travel
