Otsuka's 12-week internship program offers meaningful project experiences and enables professional growth and development. The Benefits & Compensation internship provides the opportunity for participation in various Total Rewards related projects and initiatives as well as executive and social networking events.

Job Description

The intern will support the development and implementation of Total Rewards related initiatives by working in a collaborative cross-functional team environment focused on benefits and compensation operations with exposure to total rewards strategy. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Benefits:

  • Assist in preparation activities related to annual benefits open enrollment, including system testing, communications review, and resource creation
  • Support in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for benefit processes
  • Organize the benefits shared drive and documents to support more efficient team collaboration and execution of work
  • Assist with employee inquiries related to Leave of Absence (LOA) and other benefits questions


Compensation:
  • Assist the compensation team in job evaluations for new roles at Otsuka, including a job level assessment and salary benchmarking
  • Act as the point person for salary benchmarking, job updates and reporting within Marketpay
  • Support with the submission of salary surveys as needed
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to support ongoing activities, such as the annual pay equity review and employee compensation reviews


Total Rewards:
  • Support any ad-hoc Total Rewards projects or initiatives as requested
  • In partnership with department leadership, present on at least one project at the end of the internship


Qualifications/ Required

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in executing on key deliverables within required timeframes.


Minimum
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's level program at an accredited university, preferably in the fields of Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development and related disciplines
  • Strong academic performance, minimum cumulative GPA = 3.0/4.0
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Preferred
  • Prior internship experience and/or relevant course work in Human Resources related fieldv
