Responsibilities:

POTENTIAL COLLEGE TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS:This position will be expected to complete in-person teaching assignments made by Lamar State College Orange and Lamar State College Port Arthur. Although there is apossibility of an online teaching assignment, the primary instructional assignments will be in-person and assigned by LSCO and LSCPA. With multi-campus teaching assignments, travel stipends will be provided.

GENERAL
The role and mission of LSCO places major emphasis upon the teachingcomponent. Therefore, the instructional faculty position at LSCO has anemphasis on teaching, scholarship, and service. The apportionment ofresponsibilities may be modifi ed for a specific position and for a specific semester due to classes not making or other variables which affect teachingassignments. Faculty will be expected to teach assigned classes according toapproved course syllabi or instructional dean. Each faculty member willschedule office hours which will include the normal working hours (Mon-Fri8:00 - 5:00), not excluding evening hours when classes are in session. During these office hours, the faculty member will be available to counsel students and will be available for departmental, divisional, and institutional obligations. Refer to the current faculty handbook for minimum office hour requirements. Additional events, committee meetings, professional development sessions, graduations, convocations, etc. require theattendance of faculty outside of their posted office hours or the normal working day.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Hold a master's degree or higher in Economics;
OR: Hold a master's degree in any discipline, with 18 graduate hours inEconomics.

Physical Requirements:
Ambulatory; cognitive; normal speech/communication; normal written communication; normal or corrected visual acuity; normal or corrected hearing; and moderate travel required (regardless of instructional deliverymode); frequent standing and sitting. Moderate lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects up to 20 pounds; operation of a personal computer andother various office equipment; infrequent stooping, bending, sorting, and filling.

Preferred Qualifications: College teaching experience is preferred. For technical programs, pertinent job experienceoutlined in the minimum faculty credential standards isrequired

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
