Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Full-time Instructor/Assistant Professor position to begin January 2023.

Teach undergraduate/graduate courses emphasizing teacher preparation for high and low incidence disabilities at on-campus and off-campus sites. Duties include advising students, collaborating across university departments and the community as well as supervising students in field placements, teacher candidates, and first-year teacher interns. If qualified for hire on tenure track, service and research responsibilities will be consistent with a tenure-track assignment.

Minimum Education Requirements:

Master's degree in Special Education or related field is required. Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in special education is highly preferred. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

Three years of teaching experience in P-12 special education is required. Experience in evidence-based interventions for students with disabilities is also required.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Doctorate in special education is preferred. Experience in best practices for students with learning disabilities or low incidences preferred. Experience in interpreting and administering curriculum-based measures and individual group achievement tests preferred. Experience with behavior analysis methodology, instructional methods, collaboration, and co-teaching strategies, curriculum design, assessment, research methodologies, technology, and web-assisted instruction preferred.

Note: If the successful candidate is master's prepared, the position will be filled as a non-tenure track, instructor. If the successful candidate holds a terminal degree appropriate for the position, the position will be filled as a tenure-track, assistant professor.
