IMPORTS SALES AGENT

SUMMARY

Inside Sales provides internal sales support by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the northbound sales expansion by supporting the International Account Executive with sales of existing and new accounts.
  • Developing lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
  • Prepares and updates regional product list and supplier contact information to support the International Account Executive with customer visits and inside sales distribution.
  • Provides sales support by opening new accounts, providing spot quotes for all commodities
  • Assist with reservations and logistic coordination (i.e.to door at origin or destination, perishable pallet sales and coordination with imports operation department) and other competitive advantages to assist in account growth & development.
  • Assist customers at the international origin stations with the facilitation of transportation solutions, whether air/sea/truck/rail or development of other service needs.
  • Prospect for new potential accounts by providing timely and accurate coordination of sales information including, but not limited to sales promotions, sales leads, sales directives, policies, and procedures, etc. to all sales personnel, agents, and other departments, as required
  • Assist International stations sales personnel to ensure they are supplied with promotional materials.
  • Ensure contracts are kept up to date and maintain profitability. Work with operations, as well as partners to develop programs which will enhance service to clients.
  • Prepare daily ops reports based on the monthly, weekly, daily budget in order to monitor NB sales & capacity performance.
  • Hold bi-weekly sales conference calls with each of the Caribbean & South America stations to discuss sales related matters i.e., competitive information and market conditions which impact sales growth and development.
  • Perform sales-related support functions for department controls (i.e., prepare & maintain SOPs for training of quoting & sales process to increase station sales)
  • Attends international perishable and local trade shows (i.e., PMA, Agroalimentaria, Air Cargo Americas, etc..) to promote sales growth.
  • Provides administrative support to the imports account executives and Director of Carrier Network and Int Sales Development.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associate degree or equivalent from a college or technical school or minimum of two years' experience and/or training. Strong internet and PC skills required including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in the airfreight industry a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Multi-lingual capabilities a plus

JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

1. Must attain established work standards of quantity and quality consistently by process or function.
2. Must meet or exceed work attendance standards as established in the Company's Employee Manual.
3. Always follows Company policies and procedures (including Governmental and safety), and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Ensures all inquiries are responded to within the same business day.
5. Implement customer notification of changes in sales policies or services, pricing, promotions, and schedules.
6. Monitor supplies of sales kit materials and assemble kits for distribution and inventory.
7. Identify and qualify prospective customers and produce appropriate contact lists for use by sales personnel for air and ocean.
8. Provide Logistics support, such as quotes, trucking, pricing, and coordination for both our external and internal clients.
9. Provides support on Interline requests.
10. Provides support on Animal Movement requests.
11. Provides all quotes and coordination for all Air, Logistics, Ocean, and Interline traffic for our external and internal customers.
12. Answer all incoming phone calls.
13. Performs daily Telemarketing for specific flight/destination(s).
14. Provides coverage for the receptionist during the day.
