This internship can be based in any of the following locations and is eligible for fully remote work: California, Georgia, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Role Summary
The Information Security Intern ("the Intern") will assist with responding to daily security and operational system alerts and perform active threat monitoring and hunting for advanced threats.
The Intern will be an active member of the cyber threat hunt initiative, proactively mining security data and other information sources to determine whether active threats, such as system compromise and data exfiltration, are occurring, as well as participate in security incident response and investigations.
This individual will also take part in detection engineering, performing security alert research and development to help the firm stay current on the ever-changing threat landscape.
The Intern will take part in the firm's threat intelligence initiative, monitoring for changes to the threat landscape and identifying potential cyber threats to the firm. This individual will also be responsible for participating in the firm's vulnerability management program, which includes on-going maintenance and management of hardware and software that secures the firm's networks and systems, as well as analyzing and troubleshooting problems. This involves working closely with the firm's technology operations teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risk to the firm by prioritizing and remediating applicable vulnerabilities in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
